“Jodi builds a sanctuary throughout the class. A space where deep learning, listening and body intuition can be felt, understood and integrated with ease”. - Ellie
Founder & Facilitator
Jodi’s deep understanding of embodied movement has evolved from over 20 years of experience in dance and Pilates. Her passion for and dedication to the art and science of movement led her to study the NAT11068 Graduate Diploma in Somatic and Dance Movement Therapy with Tensegrity training in 2023 and the influence of movement on the mind-body connection.
SOMA Practice classes are centered around the natural rhythms of our nervous system, blending grounding somatic techniques to aid in nervous system release and regulation with embodied movement inspired by the mat Pilates repertoire.
Jodi also has a strong foundation in injury rehabilitation, prevention, and women’s health. She completed her Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology in 2017 and her 11053NAT Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology with Tensegrity Training in 2019.
All of Jodi’s offerings are trauma-informed, having recently completed the YTT 30 Trauma-Informed Breathwork Training with Yoga for Humankind.
At SOMA Practice, Jodi creates a nuturing environment where you can feel fully supported throughout your movement exploration.
